The CastA myriad of would-be Shinigami from all over the world converge! For the most part, they're people who probably should never have met. Note: A lot of characters here have nicknames on top of pseudonyms made just for public display in the Institute. Jump to: Students | Teachers | Field | Ronadas | Minor Characters STUDENTSCurrently active students of ITAD.
Kusari "Chains" Tapada ASharp of wit but never scathing, this new student plans to make himself known. The methods by which he goes about doing so may not be the most orthodox. He has an air about him which draws in people's attention yet keeps them at their distance - lest he make eye contact. Fun Fact: He tends to call Clash type "Crash". Also, his strange outfit was a cosplay based on a character from an obscure manga he was a fan of: Slay Saga: The Last Trial.
Eustace "Yu" Kirsch A mildly intimidating man with fewer friends than you might think. He managed to forge a relationship with Saru in his first year; at Chains's appearance, he finds his eye (and other things) wandering more easily than suspected, despite his usually strong will. He's reserved with his emotions and isn't read easily, save by Chains, which unnerves him. Fun Fact: He managed to have his recently-deceased and beloved pet schnauzer, Iffle, restored into Shikigami form by the Bureau. Iffle's not the same, but comforts him nonetheless.
Saru Mbojan A man with a very distinctly direct demeanor. He finds himself easily envious of whoever else shares Eustace's company. He is physically weak, despite being somewhat statuesque and having an amazing stamina. He tends not to like it when things don't go his way but is easily mollified. He affects an air of education, despite having never been to college. Fun Fact: Chains likes to call him "Monkey-face".
Hibiku "Hibi" Tanja For whatever reason, she despises Chains like a cat in water and tries to avoid him whenever she sees him. She does not do a good job of it. She regrets their ever having met, but most regard her as over-sensitive. She's actually very pleasant when in better moods and likes to indulge in games. Fun Fact: Whenever she talks, all Chains claims to hear is "Echooo~!"
Emblem Shieldwell Since his passable high school days, he's spent a lot of time disciplining his mind and body in attempt to reform himself. He has scars on his body, remnants of his former fighting hobbies and intense physical training. He's very sensitive at heart and also very easy to get to. He had a car accident a few years ago that disabled the use of one of his legs, but with Shinigami training the feeling may return to it! Fun Fact: Emblem is almost always seen with a bandana around his head that tends to make others think he belongs in a gang. It's actually just for sweat.
Violet "Donna" Fiefar Being such a young newbie, Donna often looks to her peers for support and guidance, despite how in this institution a lot of her peers can't immediately be trusted, least of all Chains (her crush). She actually does carefully choose who she can rely on. She always seems happy and knowledgeable beyond the others' understanding, ever able to provide her friends with moral support and/or vital information. Fun Fact: She could easily become caught up in fads, as well as people.
Nexy Tear Very strong-willed and multifaceted, Nexy also has a tendency to be strongheaded and fast to act. Her actions tend to be larger-than life, yet she also keeps incidents within her ability. She is confident in her major and minor, even as a third-year. She tends to make friends of anyone pretty easily and has a wide range of interests, as well as a few hidden passions. Some take her abilities to be the advantage of being a teacher's daughter, but she is actually more challenged by that. Fun Fact: Nexy has actually been a while in becoming a Shinigami, having dropped out to roam the world of the Ronadas for some time after her second year and recently returned.
Percival "Ohbi" June A fourth-year who calls himself "The Next Obigami". He's not so apparently full of himself but still is aloof from most students. He is known for being somewhat sexually skilled, as well as generous. He has a strange, mildly obsessive way of compiling information on the renegade Wren whenever and wherever he can. Fun Fact: He claims he will punch whoever refers to him by his real name. Does he look like he could punch anybody?
Resen Tami A young girl who has been at the Institute since a young age. She is blind and uses her abilities to be able to sense things around her. People tend to be wary of talking to her due to her strange, disconnected mien. She has friends but tends to spend her free time alone with a peculiar Shikigami, Ogu. Fun Fact: She is one of few who have learned to achieve Synthesis freely with Shikigami.
Cinna Bon This boy does whatever he can with his twin brother, Min. It was Min's idea to become a Shinigami (and also his influence to be Murmur). Cinna tends to mimic his brother in any way he can, though whether it is out of habit is unsure. He's not quick of wit, but he's endeared to his convictions. Fun Fact: He claims that his hairstyle is completely natural.
Min Bon Min, the more dominant Bon brother (it's said he came out first), has a lot of ideas that don't often come to fruition. He exudes a strange and almost misplaced air of maturity. He dyed his hair so he would appear different than Cinna and figures their minors will be ultimately the large cause in their looking different. He has a strong taste for high fashion, even though he could never afford it. He also loves bananas. TEACHERSThose who serve to edify would-be Shinigami.
No Isu (Noel Isu) Teacher of the History classes and a scholar for decades, he has an extensive knowledge of standards, happenings, and ethics relating to both Shinigami and other cultures. He himself is not a Shinigami, but has been allowed to work as one with all his knowledge. Some students tease and threaten to kill him if he gives a pop quiz. Fun Fact: He spends a lot of time typing on an old-fashioned typewriter.
No Fila (Ai Fila, Firagami) A very serious and strong person, No Fila treats all she touches as absolute priority, utter importance - yet she never gets attached to them. Hence, she makes absolutely certain that the decisions made in her Discovery class are 100% sure, or waits and monitors the students who cannot choose -very- closely. She often does not understand others because they are unwilling/unable to open themselves to her. Fun Fact: She walks around followed by various kinds of small birds and is sometimes found flute-playing in the gardens.
No Gachan (Maima Gachan, Gagami) One of the younger instructors in the Institution, No Gachan is energetic in her teaching of the sciences. Her two abilities combined with her enthusiasm make her a deadly oppnent and an effective Shinigami. Her good moods are not easily ruined. Fun Fact: She spends some time each week keeping up with the Japanese Garden.
No Chester (Raserith Chester, Razegami) An able-bodied man, he serves as an exemplary model of his types and performs well in all his Field and Combat classes. He looks nothing of a warrior, yet hosts an alarming amount of power. Despite his age and his short life as a Shinigami, he is already a powerful fighter and an instructor. He is Nexy's father and helps her in what ways he can. They had parted ways in life but found each other again as Shinigami and henceforth became closer. Fun Fact: He actually likes bagpipe music!
No Jonegami The current Principal of the Institute. The very third to have ever had control of the Institute (the second having, like Obigami himself, perished), he maintains all the rules and does a great job of keeping the place and its maintainers in order. He himself chose all the teachers and has utmost trust in them. He is remarkably genial and sometimes blends into the environment as if he were a student. Despite his apparent age, he still looks something of a more refined young adult. Since the role of leader descended ultimately from Obigami (and he himself acquired the role by being valedictorian the year of his graduation), he is the go-between for Shinigami and God. Not many such go-betweens are had these days - the business has expanded, and issues are low - but he is the highest and most powerful Shinigami there is, well-rounded but excelling in Claw and not to be trifled with. Fun Fact: He is rumored to possess the great White Tiger spirit Byakko, as well as many other extremely powerful spirits. How he came to acquire them is both myth and legend.
Midogami One of the original four Apprentices of Obigami when the Institute was founded. He is the only one who stayed after Obigami's death and now serves as Vice-Principal to Jonegami. He was also VP when Ruegami headed the Institute. Unlike when Ruegami presided, he feels he has no power in Jonegami's eyes. It is said he did not inherit the Principal position through both passings because he lacks leadership skills. Fun Fact: He not-so-secretly has the hots for Jone. FIELDAny Shinigami who has graduated from or simply left the ITAD.
Wren Not a current student but rather an ages-old alumnus of the Institute, he is local and known to pop in on some of their field missions, despite being told not to. He has been Marked not to be trusted. He and No Chester have an apparent rivalry for all these interruptions, but their mysterious disappearances mid-battle cannot be accounted for... Fun Fact: Wren owns both a Slayr and a Blastr, not earned but obtained by theft.
Kabengami An esteemed alumnus of the Institute, he drops in on occasion to see Jonegami and admire the studious students. He has a long and obtrusive narwhal horn on his forehead and strange markings on his face. Fun Fact: He really doesn't like narwhals. RONADASWhat do they have to do with anything, indeed? . . . Minor CharactersThey're important, just not as.
